Virginia Leach

Mrs. Virginia Leach, of Energy, Illinois died on Friday, June 22, 2018 at Helia Health care center in Energy. she was born in Energy to Grady and Madge (McAlpin) Flener. She was married to Niles Leach who was in the Navy and had 68 beautiful years together until he died in 2011. She went to St. Louis and worked for the Corp of Engineers the back in Energy she taught Man Power and worked at the Village of Energy as Secretary. She was a member of the 2nd Baptist Church and served in every department of the Sunday school. She had 1 son who passed away in 2007. she was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers Edgar and Allen Flener, 2 sisters Juanita McCarty and Betty Heckman, nephew Phil Boren. Survivors include 1 sister Gladys Oman of Sun City Az. also surviving is nephew Bill and Willene McCarty of Steeleville, niece Phyllis Kerr of Conroe TX, great nieces, Laura DuFrenne of Red Bud Illinois, Lisa DeMaster of Kingwood TX, Linda Givens of Carmel Indiana and great nephews, Greg and Brad Snyder of Huntington Beach Cal. Please make memorial Donations to Operation Christmas Child C/O 2nd Baptist Church.A Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Monday at 2nd Baptist with the Rev. Matt Frizzell officiating. Interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Marion, IL.Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Monday, June 25, 2018, at 2nd Baptist, , Herrin, Illinois.
