Steven Swalls, 59 of Carterville, Illinois died on Saturday, December 16, 2017, at his home in Carterville, surrounded by his family after a 6 year battle with cancer. Steve filled his 59 years with hunting, fishing,mushroom hunting and loving his family. Steve was in car sales for many dealerships in the area.Born Sunday, December 7, 1958 in Benton, Illinois, he was the son of William Swalls and Dorothy Markus Swalls. Steve was the husband of Debra (Johnson) Swalls she survives.Surviving are son, Stuart and wife Kelly Swalls and their child Vivian of Champaign, IL. 3 daughters, Stephanie and husband Stephen Haust and there child Reese of Carterville, Samantha Swalls and her son Joseph Black of Shiloh Ill., Sidney and husband Wes Moore and there child Madilyn of Pittsburg. 1 sister Mary Beth and husband Scott Meadows and children,Jason Kern, Joshua Stricker and Danielle Dunlap. Also surviving is 1st wife Deborah Landon of Daytona Beach Fl. and best friend Jay Cox. He was preceded in death by, grandparents Joseph and Bertha Markus and Nellie and Earl Swalls and uncle William A. Morgan.A Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Tuesday at Van Natta Funeral Home located at 427 South Park Avenue Herrin, Illinois 62948 with the Rev. Michael Williams officiating.
