Stanley H. Hovenga

Carterville; Stanley H. Hovenga 66, of Carterville Illinois passed away at 5:00 am in the St. Louis University Hospital Thursday July 29, 2021. He was born in Charles City, Iowa to Harm and Mary (Hinders) Hovenga. He was married to Tamara Cornell November 28, 1975, she passed away March 31 2019. Stanley is survived by his 3 sons, Aaron and Janice Hovenga of Johnston City, Adam and Emily Hovenga of Colp and Andrew and Teresa Hovenga of New Baden. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Abby, Wyatt,Charlie, Braxton and Eden and 1 sister Elaine and Jerry Kenner of Herrin. Stanley was a member of the Hurst Christian Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 1 brother John and grand daughter Olivia. A funeral service will be on Monday August 2, 2021 at 1:00 pm at the Van Natta Funeral Home in Herrin , with the Rev. Greg Parker officiating . Visitation will be from 11:00 am untill time of service on Monday 2, 2021. Burial will be in the Blairsville cemetery.
