Julie Barnes

Julie Barnes, a beloved soul, peacefully passed away on December 7, 2023, at the age of 66. She was born in Marion to her mother Barbara Myrich, a woman who instilled in Julie the values of love and strength that she would carry throughout her life.

Julie found solace and joy in nature, often embarking on hikes through the serene trails of Ferncliff. Her adventurous spirit led her to embrace the simple pleasures in life. In her leisure time, she indulged in playing games like Farmville and Angry Bird, finding delight in these virtual worlds.

Left to cherish Julie's memory is her adoring son Brent Barnes of Herrin. Additionally, she is survived by her beloved granddaughter Shaylynn Triplett of Johnston City and great-grandson Ransom Spanbquer, also of Johnston City. Julie found comfort in knowing that generations of her family would continue to carry forward her legacy. She also leaves behind two aunts, Wilma Ridgeway of Herrin and April Myrick of Benson Arizona, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins who held special places in her heart.

Julie joins her parents Barbara and Roger Myrick, as well as her sister Cindy and brother Richard, who have already departed from this world. Their love and memories will forever be treasured by all who knew them.

In accordance with Julie's wishes, she will be cremated. A memorial service to celebrate and honor her remarkable life will take place at a later date under the compassionate care of Van Natta Funeral Home.

As we bid farewell to Julie Barnes, let us remember her for the beautiful moments she shared with us while she was here with open arms. She embraced life with grace and left an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to have known her. May she find eternal peace in the embrace of our loving creator.
