James William Bresett

James W. Bresett, a cherished soul, peacefully passed away at his home on June 19, 2024, at the age of 81. Born in  Virginia, on November22, 1942, to  Leslie and Agnes Bresett. In 1997, he found a lifelong companion in Sue Mathis, who remains by his side.

Left to cherish his memory are his son Randy Bresett from Paducah and four daughters: Julie and her husband Kevin Blankenship from Herrin, Amy and her husband Brett Cutsinger from Marion, Emily and her husband Jerry Nicks from Energy, and Jennifer Schumpert from North Carolina. His legacy continues through the hearts of 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service to honor and celebrate James's remarkable life will be held in the Herrin City Cemetery at 3:00 pm Friday June 21, 2024. Friends are kindly asked to gather directly at the cemetery for this final farewell. The arrangements are entrusted to the compassionate hands of Van Natta Funeral Home.
