Helen Gibbons

August 22, 1929 — April 13, 2022

With great sadness, we announce the passing of Helen Marie Gibbons, our loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to all whose lives she touched. On April 13, 2022, she left us while sleeping peacefully with her son at her side at Good Shepherd Hospice, Sebring, FL. She was in her 92nd year. Born in Herrin, Illinois on August 22, 1929, to John and Marie (McEntire) Dillman. She enjoyed reading and family dinners, she loved cleaning her house and took great pride in it. She was a member of the Community Chapel Church, Marion, IL and remained in contact with Brother Donnie until her final days. Helen was married to Noble Gibbons on June 11, 1948, in Marion IL. Helen was the beloved mother of Butch and Denny Gibbons. She is survived by one son Dennis Gibbons, a brother James (Dixie) Dillman, sister-in-law (Dorothy) Dillman and daughter-in-law Marilyn Gibbons. She was a proud grandmother to Nichole Neal (Stacy), Shawn (Dawn) Gibbons, Josh (Melissa) Gibbons, and Colten Gibbons. She has 6 Great Grandchildren and 4 Great Great Grandchildren. She was predeceased by her loving husband Noble, son Butch and parents Marie and John Dillman. Along with her siblings, Irene Carter, Nina Olgelsby, Edward, and Clyde Dillman. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
A celebration of Helen’s life will be held graveside at the Herrin City Cemetery, on Thursday, 04/21/2022, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
