George Darrell Law

George Darrell Law (66) of Herrin, Illinois passed on Wednesday, December 18, 2019, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.   George was born on December 17, 1953 in Herrin, Illinois to George E. and Afton C. Law.  He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters:  Betty June Watson, Mary K. Howell, Donald R. Law, Bud Law, Billy Dean Law and Tommy Law.   George worked for Maytag (formerly Norge) in Herrin, Illinois for almost 34 years before the Herrin plant closed.  He then worked for Kroger, Thornton’s Market, Les Marie Florist and Van Natta Funeral Home.  George was especially known for his beautiful, delicious cakes that he made for birthdays, weddings and other celebrations.   He leaves behind several nieces, nephews and many great friends.   Services will be held at Van Natta Funeral Home at 427 South Park Street, Herrin, Illinois on Saturday, December 21, 2019 as follows:  Visitation from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by funeral at 1:00 PM.  Interment will follow at East Lawn Memorial Garden in Herrin, Illinois.
