John 14:1-6
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.” Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?” Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Billie Rae (Brookhouse) Earl departed this earth to join her beloved Lord and Savior on March 3rd, 2023 at Herrin Hospital.  

She was married to Richard Earl who proceeded her in death.

Billie was born August 24th, 1944 to Adam Ray Brookhouse and Dorothy Elizabeth (Harmon) Brookhouse/Miller who both proceeded her in death.

Those who went before her included her sisters, Laura June, Mary Ann, Violet Ruth, Ruby Jane  (Robert) Martin, Sister in Law Kathy (Smoot) Brookhouse, Father and Mother in Law Charles and Aileen (Nichols) Earl, special friend Don Choate and her beloved Sonny.

Surviving are Brothers, John and Delores (Davie) Brookhouse of Carterville, Sam and Jeannie Brookhouse of Marion, Frank Brookhouse of Carterville.  Nieces Diana (Scott) Cash, Deena (Barney) Beasley, Wendy Brookhouse, Tracy (Eathan) Baker, Shannon (Ted) Oxendine, Edward (Brandy) Brookhouse, Rachael Smoot, John Smoot, April Switzer, Michael and Rosie Switzer, Joseph Pierce, Kendra, Chloe, Zach, Kim, Kaiden, Izzy, Todd and Rhonda and many more great nieces and nephews and special friend Richard and her beloved Shadow and Ruby.

Billie attended Carbondale Community High School. She graduated from Herrin High School in 1963. She then enrolled at John A Logan College where she recevided her degree in nursing, where she continued with the nursing at Herrin Hospital.

Billie was a member of Hurricane Memorial Baptist Church, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and a member of the Blue Heron Marina of Carterville.  She loved her flowers, crocheting, and fishing.

Her funeral service will be held Wednesday March 8th, 2023 at Van Natta Funeral Home in Herrin Il.  Visitation will be at 11:00 am at the funeral home.  Funeral service will be officiated by Reverend John Yeo at 1 PM.  Interment will be in Egyptian Memorial Gardens of Herrin.
