Alan "Muldoon" Gulley, a cherished son of Herrin, slipped quietly from this world on March 25, 2026, in the comfort of his home. Born on August 31, 1953, to Thomas and Helen (Cox) Gulley, Alan’s life was deeply rooted in the community that watched him grow. He is lovingly remembered by his two sisters, Marilyn Ingram of Waterloo, Illinois, and Karen McGee of Herrin, who carry forward the warmth and memories they shared. Alan was preceded in death by his devoted parents and siblings—Sherry Overturf, Carol Grant, Diana Tripoli, Tom Gulley, and Edward Gulley—whose spirits remain intertwined with his. As he transitions into eternal rest, Alan will be honored through cremation, with burial arranged for a later gathering, allowing those touched by his life time to come together in remembrance. Van Natta Funeral Home is entrusted with the care of the arrangements, guiding friends and family through this poignant farewell. In celebrating Alan’s life, we remember a beloved individual whose presence left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him.
