Oscar M. Conner-Sesser Oscar M. Conner went to be with his lord on December 4, 2010 at 9:40 AM at his home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Conner was born in Jefferson Co. November 11, 1933 to Raymond and Ollie (Page) Conner he was 77 years old. Mr. Conner was a Coal Miner and was a member of the UMWA and was also a farmer. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Conner married Myrl (Bennett) Conner on August 8, 1953 she survives. Mr. Conner is survived by 4 daughter – Debbie and husband Randy Hagston of Scheller Ill., Tina and husband Mike Melvin of Mulkeytown Ill., Terryl and husband Leon Dilliner of Sesser Ill. And Dana and husband Tony Derington of Benton Kty., 1 son Mike Conner of Florida. One brother- Donald and wife Billie Conner of Momence Ill., two sisters- Marilyn Ing of Sesser Ill. and Caroline Johnson of De Mott Ind. Also surviving is 9 grandchildren- Brent and wife Becky Loucks of Scheller, Chanda and husband Edvis Taylor of Mt. Vernon, Amy and husband Terry Newman of Sesser, Jeff Melvin of Mulkeytown, Josh Conner of Sesser, Ginger Conner of Mulkeytown, Anthony Gobtop of Sesser, Mccartney Derington of Benton Kty. And Bailey Derington of Benton Kty. 5 great grandchildren- Seth Loucks of Scheller, Wyatt Loucks of Scheller, Shaelyn Taylor of Mt Vernon, Harley Newman and Resse Newman of Sesser. He was preceded in death by 1 son Timothy Conner, 1 brother Cecil Conner and 1 sister Joyce Slack. Memorials can be made to Hospice of Southern Ill or to the Kidney Foundation envelops will be provided at the funeral home . Services will be at the West City Church of God in West City at 11:00am Tuesday December 7, 2010 with Rev. Harold Whitlock and Rev. Roy Rich. Visitation will be from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at the Van Natta Funeral Home on Rt 148 between Christopher and Sesser. Burial will be in the Mapel Hill Cemetery in Sesser.
