Jerry Hartman

HERRIN -- Jerry Hartman, Sr., 57, died Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010, in Decendent's Residence in Herrin. He was born in East St. Louis to Frank Hartman and Patricia (Gabriel) McKinney of Fairfield, and they survive. He was married to Melody (Sloat) Hartman of Hurst. Other survivors are two sons, Jerry Jr. and wife, Autumn, Hartman of Herrin, and Jeremy and wife, Jessie K., Hartman of Herrin; three grandchildren, Tiffany, Alexis Hartman of Herrin, and Raven Hartman of Cambria; eight brothers, Frank Hartman of Montana, Mike Hartman of Grayville, Eddie McKinney and Richard McKinney of Fairfield, Kenny McKinney of Olney, Jimmy, Brian and Johnny McKinney of Fairfield; and one sister, Shelia Bailey of Albion. He was preceded in death by stepfather, Sonny McKinney; and two sisters, Pattie Mitchell and Mickey Hartman.Mr. Hartman served in the Army during the Vietnam War.Services will be at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2010, in Van Natta Funeral Home in Herrin, with the Rev. Don Colson officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Per his wishes, his body will be cremated.Van Natta Funeral Home in Herrin is in charge of arrangements.
