Garrett L. Ingersoll

November 20, 1980 — March 21, 2010

Mr. Garrett L. Ingersoll, age 29, of Herrin, IL, left his earthly home to join his Heavenly Father on Sunday, March 21, 2010.He died at home from heart complications. He was born in Herrin Il, to Leroy and Kay (Ridgway) Ingersoll, they survive. He has one sister Angel and husband J. R. Ray of Herrin, one special nephew Christian James Ray of Herrin, six uncles, Buddy and Ronnie Ingersoll of Zeigler, Norman Childers of Herrin, Donnie and Mike Childers of Zeigler and Nick Ridgway of Herrin. Also surviving is three aunts, Janet Davis of Pittsburg Il, Alice Keller of Coello Il. and Melody Earnhart of DuQuoin Il. Mr. Ingersoll has several surviving cousins, which he adored. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Herschel and Maxine Ridgway and Jack Ingersoll and Ruby Childers. Garrett also leaves behind many many special friends, too many to list. He was Owner of SI Audio in Carterville. He formerly was employed at Auffenbergs in Herrin and Saturn in Carbondale. Mr. Ingersoll attended John A. Logan College and was a 1999 Graduate of Herrin High school. He attended Life Church in Marion and was a member of 1st Baptist Church in Herrin. Garrett loved the Lord , the Gaithers, wrestling and spending time with his family and friends. A short autobiography written by Garrett: " I"m my own boss which is awesome. I opened up my shop (SI Audio) in December of 2007, and have been rolling along since then. I am very lucky because I get to "work" on cars and stereos and all the fun stuff. Plus it doesn't hurt that the 2 guys that work for me are some of my very best friends. I have a beautiful mom and my dad is pretty cool too. My best friend is my older sister Angel and my pride and joy is her 4 year old son Christian. My only kid is my 1 year old pit bull Mackie. A special quote from Garrett: "When you love someone, put their name in a circle, not a heart. A heart can be broken but a circle goes on forever." Arrangements are being handled by Van Natta Funeral Home, 427 South Park, Herrin, IL Funeral service will be at Van Natta Funeral Home at 1:00 PM, Friday, March 26, 2010, Rev. Paul Tirey and Rev. Roger Loss officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00pm to 8:00pm Thursday. The burial will be in Herrin City Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to Relay for Life.
