John Mitchell

Mr. John Mitchell , age 87, of Herrin, IL, died Monday, March 1, 2010, at Oak Grove Rehab Center in Carbondale, IL. Mr. Mitchell was born in Herrin December 4, 1922 to Marion and Evelyn Crain Mitchell they preceded him in death. Surviving are 6 cousins Roberta Donihi of Herrin, Jean Sencibaugh of Missouri, Wilma Reynolds of California, Patricia Shaffer of Kentucky, Robert Christian of Kentucky and Geraldine Owen of Herrin Illinois. Mr. Mitchell had worked for the city of Detroit MI. He was a member of the Harvestime Church in Herrin and Herrin Masonic Lodge #693. Masonic rites will be Thursday at 12:00pm. Mr. Mitchell was preceded in death by his wife Judy Mitchell. Arrangements are being handled by Van Natta Funeral Home, 427 South Park, Herrin, IL Funeral service will be at Van Natta Funeral Home at 1:00 PM, Thursday, March 4, 2010. Visitation will be Thursday from 11:00am until time of the funeral. Rev. Todd Hawk officiating. Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery, Carterville, IL.
