Herrin-Mr. Densil W. Glenn, age 81, of Herrin, IL, died Saturday, December 19, 2009, at Herrin Hospital in Herrin, IL. Devout christian, faithful and loving husband and caring father. Took his final steps in his journey from this life into the next Saturday December 19, 2009 while resting peacefully at his home in Herrin. Mr. Glenn was born in Clifford, Ill. to Floyd Jacob Glenn and Ethel Maude (Brandon) Glenn. He was first married to Elizabeth Rae (Payne) Glenn for 26 years, mother of his three children, she preceded him in death. He then married Mary Arlene (Jourdan) Glenn and celebrated 34 years together, she survives. Densil lived a life of servant hood to both the communities he lived in and the churches that he served. He pastored several small churches within the United Methodist Church while in his twenties, and continued to serve different congregations through out his life time. Densil operated grocery stores in Mt. Vernon, Herrin,West Frankfort, Murphyboro and Cambria. He loved his work and the people he served. His hobbies included Camping, Boating, Fishing and spending time with his family.Many fond memories were made within the campgrounds and lakes of Southern Ill.He is survived two daughters, Candyce Germann of Carterville and Charlet and husband Gale Nowland of Waltonville Ill. One son Floyd Lee Glenn of Atlanta Ga.. He is also survied by grandchildren, Matt and wife Charlene Germann of Opdyke Ill, Amy and husband Chris Duncan of Marion Il.,Jarrod and wife Natalie Newell of Carmi Ill., Joshua and wife Jodi Newell of Indianapolis In., Samantha and husband Steve Winka of Scheller Ill., Ashleigh Glenn and fiance~ Jason Bryan of Charlotte NC., and Chad Glenn of Charlotte NC., There are also 10 great grand children. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11:00am at the Van Natta Funeral Home in Herrin. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00pm to 8:oopm at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Mt Vernon Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Mt Vernon Ill.
