Wilma Perrine MARION - Wilma Idell Barker Perrine, 79, died Sunday, July 5, 2009, in Herrin Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born at home in Herrin on April 25, 1930, to William and Nellie (Watson) Barker. She was married to John Bill Perrine on July 23, 1948, and he passed away Jan. 10, 1996. She was a member of United Pentecostal Church of Johnston City. She worked throughout her life in different capacities caring for the elderly. She worked as a teenager in Herrin Hospital, several nursing homes in the area and had an elderly care facility in her home. Survivors include four daughters, Karla and Phil Crosby of Johnston City, Norma and Jack Walker of Carterville, Jennifer Parmer, and Gayle and Mike Davis, all of Herrin; grandchildren, John and Susan Squires of Dallas, Tom Squires of Edmonton, Canada, Justin Walker of Carterville, James Parmer, Michaela and Katie Davis of Herrin; and one great-granddaughter, Grace Squires of Dallas; one brother, Harold Gene and Florence Baggot of Santa Ana, Calif.; two sisters, Lee and Jim Rendleman of Carbondale and Ruth Ann and Dan Morris of Kankakee. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews whom she loved very much. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and five brothers, Sonny, Tom, Popcorn, Bud and Ron. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 9, 2009, in Van Natta Funeral Home in Herrin, with the Rev. Michael Glasco officiating. Burial will be in Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be at 6 p.m. today in Van Natta Funeral Home in Herrin, with a prayer service at 8 p.m. by the Rev. Bruce Howell. Memorials may be made to United Pentecostal Church of Johnston City and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
