Violet Griffith

Mrs. Violet E. Griffith, 82 of Sevierville, Tennessee died on Sunday, August 28, 2016 at UT Hospital in Knoxville Tenn.. She was born in Herrin October 21,1933 to John and Emma (Rhodes) Perrine.Mrs. Griffith was married to Dean Griffith he preceded her in death. She is survived by daughter Deena and Paul Barger of Sevierville Tenn., 2 step daughters, Jodi and Pat Doughty of Goodyear AZ, Tracy and Steve Wille of Chandler AZ. Also surviving are 4 grand children Kiersten and husband Josh Summers, Paige and husband Rick Pemvy, Courtney and husband Nick Panzo and Tyler and wife Christy Dillman all of Arizona and 9 great grand children, Keegan, Rowan, Ayden, Ethan, Alyssa, Evann, Emerson, Trey, and Madison. She also had a special pet Kitty Ziggy. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 sister Betty Deming, 2 brothers, John and Clyde Perrine. Her hobbies included volunteering and playing bingo at the Sevierville senior center and enjoyed St. Louis Cardinals Baseball and the University of Tennessee Athletics. Memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society A Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday at Van Natta Funeral Home located at 427 South Park Avenue Herrin, Illinois 62948 with the Robert Jilek officiating. Interment will be in Herrin City Cemetery, Herrin, IL. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Thursday, September 1, 2016, at Van Natta Funeral Home, 427 South Park Avenue , Herrin, Illinois.
