Marion – Kathryn M Neilson, 100, passed away Thursday, August 18, 2016 There will be a grave side service Sunday, August 28th at 2pm at the Fountain United Methodist Church. Van Natta Funeral Home in Herrin is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Neilson was retired. She was a Sears Roebuck & Company Manager in Herrin, Illinois for 25 years. She was born October 15, 1915 to Joseph and Mary Verga. She married Harold Lester Neilson December 12, 1948 in Senatobia, Mississippi. Preceded in death by husband Harold Lester Neilson. Survivors include one nephew Dan Verga; three nieces Linda Gray, Charlotte Verga and Sharon Williamson; three great-nieces Danita Webb, Cheryl Lakin, and Leslie Lyons; four great-nephews, Lee Webb, Daniel Webb, Doug Verga and Jason Verga; three great-great-nephews, Brok Webb, Ethan Webb, and Liam Webb; five great-great-nieces Karlee Webb, Jessica Springer, Leslie Sexton, Laura Lakin, and Ellen Lakin. Preceded in death by mother and father Joseph and Mary Verga, brother Charles D. Verga, great-nephew Richard Sexton, and great-great niece Kristy Sexton. Memorials may be made to the Fountain United Methodist Church and Marion Senior Citizens Center.
