Joyce Mahan

Mrs. Joyce Mahan, 84 of Herrin, Illinois died on Monday, June 6, 2016, at Herrin Rehab Center in Herrin, Illinois. She was born Wednesday, October 21, 1931 in Herrin, Illinois. She was married to Max Mahan he preceded her in death May 5, 2012. She is survived by her brother John Lyell Sr. of Florida, cousin Loretta Newcom of Herrin and several nieces and nephews. She was a V.A. Rep at the V.A. Hospital in Marion and was volunteer of the year in 2016. She was in charge of recreation at the V.A. for over 20 years and was a member of the VFW aux. in Herrin. Her favorite thing to do was play Bingo and she was very lucky at it. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother Ronnie. A Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday at Van Natta Funeral Home located at 427 South Park Avenue Herrin, Illinois with Rev. Don Colson officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Carterville, IL. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 AM on Thursday, June 9, 2016, at Van Natta Funeral Home, 427 South Park Avenue , Herrin, Illinois.
