Juanita McCarty

Juanita McCarty, 90 of Energy, Illinois went home to be with the lord on Tuesday, March 24, 2009, at Heartland Regional Hospital in Marion, Illinois.Born Friday, August 23, 1918 in Williamson County, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Grady Flener and the late Madge McAlpin. She was a member of 2nd Baptist in Herrin Ill. Mrs. McCarty married Robert Boren in 1934. He preceded her in death in 1942. She later married Rev. J. D. McCarty 1945. He also preceded her in death. Surviving are sons and daughter-in-laws, Dr. Phil and Sharon Boren of Carmi, IL. and Bill and Willene McCarty of Steelville, Ill. Three sisters and two brother-in-laws, Gladys and Bob Oman of Sun City Arizonia, Virginia and Niles Leach of Energy Ill and Betty Heckman of Huntington Beach Cal. Three grandchildren, Lisa and David DeMaster of Houston Texas, Linda and David Given of Carmel Ind. and Laura and Leo DuFrenne of Redbud Ill. Four great grand children, Maggie DuFrenne of Redbud Ill.,Chase DeMaster of Houston Tex., Adam and Rachel Given of Carmel Ind. Mrs. McCarty taught adult sunday school. She also wrote curriculum material for the Childrens Division of the Baptist Sunday School Board. Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Friday at 2nd Baptist Church Herrin, Illinois 62948 with the Rev. Brad Harlow and Rev. Jerry Ford officiating. Visitation will be thursday at 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Van Natta funeral home. Interment will be in Herrin City Cemetery, Herrin, IL. Memorial Donation can be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois Inc.
