Daniel Roth

Dr. Daniel Roth, M.D, FACS of Herrin, Illinois died on Friday, March 6, 2009, at his home in Herrin, Illinois. Born in Chicago, Illinois to Max and Minnie (Lauter) Roth. He was the husband of Lynda Joy (Earl) Roth of Herrin. He is survived by daughter and son-in-law Rhonda and Herb Klickner of Herrin, son and daughter-in-law David and Trisha Roth of Herrin. Grand Children Sam and Max Klickner of Herrin and Erin Victoria Roth of Herrin and several neices and nephews. Dr. Roth was preceded in death by his parents 4 sisters, Helen Kidder, Ann Cutler, Sylvia Griebaum and Marjorie Goldstein and 1 brother Sam Roth. He was a graduate from Chicago Medical School. He loved farming on his farm in New Burnside and enjoyed playing golf . Dr. Roth had been a member of the medical staff of Union County Hospital, Memorial Hospital of Carbondale and practiced at Herrin Hospital for 45 years.He was a member of the Franklin County Country Club, masonic lodge in Johnston City member of Fellows of American College of Surgeons and Life member of Williamson County Medical Society. He was a Captain in the Army and served in the Korean war in a M.A.S.H. unit. Memorial can be made to Hospice of Southern Ill. Inc. The family will receive friends Tuesday March 10, 2009 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. A graveside funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday at B'Nai Amoona Cemetery located at 903 North South Hyw. Saint Louis, Missouri 63114 with the Rabbi Andrea Goldstein officiating.
