Mabel Yates

Mrs. Mabel Yates,96 of Herrin, Illinois died on Monday, October 12, 2015 in St. Louis Mo. She was born in Herrin to Richard and Mary (Hipple) Hudley. She was married to James Foster and later was married to Omer Yates they both preceded her in death. Mabel was a member of 1st Christian Church in Herrin and was past grand lecturer of the Eastern Star Anna Chapter. She was also a member of the White Shrine. Mabel loved to cook and would make the best cookies and cake. Surviving are son, Randy Foster of Arnold Mo., daughters Mavis Norris of Jacksonville Ill, Betty Lou McNeely of Anna. She also had 4 brothers and 2 sister , several grand children and great grand children. Mrs. Yates was preceded in death by her parents and her husbands. A Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Friday at Van Natta Funeral Home located at 427 South Park Avenue Herrin, Illinois 62948 with the Rev. Ron Henwood officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Friday, October 16, 2015, at Van Natta Funeral Home, 427 South Park Avenue , Herrin, Illinois.
