Lura Mae Franklin

Mrs. Lura Mae Franklin, age 85, of Marion, IL, died Sunday, February 1, 2009. Mrs.Franklin was married to Lyn W. Franklin August 1941, he preceded her in death.She was the daughter of the late Albert Palmer and the late Grace (Kelley) Palmer. She was retired from Smolars in Herrin. Survivors include, 2 sons, Delmus and wife Rosemary Franklin of Herrin, Lyn "Marty" Franklin of Crab Orchard Ill . 3 sisters, Lillian Grims, Dimple Henderson all from Marion Ill., Etta Ann and husband Homer Robinson. 2 Brothers and sister-in-laws Dayton and Bonnie Franklin of Herrin and Conrad and Lois Franklin of Herrin. Sister-in-law Rosie Palmer of Kentucky. also suviving are grand Children, Debbie Switzer, Sara Wiiliams of Indiana, Wesley and Lori Franklin of Texas, Gale and Becky Franklin of Benton, Shelli and Brad Holland of Herrin, Zachary and Delene Franklin of Herrin, Isaac Franklin of Herrin, Becky and Doug Warren of Herrin, Christina and David Vancil of Crab Orchard. There are also 20 great grand Children and 5 great great grand children. There are also many special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers George, Ray,Delmus Palmer and 1 step brother Bon Crawford. Sister-in-law Rilla and husband Perry Haught. The family would like to specially thank Parkway Manor and their excellent staff and Dr. Pramote. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11:00am at Van Natta Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm also at the funeral home. Arrangements are being handled by Van Natta Funeral Home. Rev Ralph Brandon will officiate. Entombment will be at East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Herrin, IL
