Jerry Odum

Mr. Jerry Odum, 74 of Energy, Illinois died on Monday, June 8, 2015. Mr. Odum was born in Herrin to William and Mary Marie (Rumsey) Odum on September 10, 1944. Surviving are son, Mr. John and Christina Odum of Niceville, FL, daughters, Mrs. Tammy and Brad Faelber of Denver, CO and Mrs. Valarie Barela of Mount Vernon, TX, brother, Mr. Marion Odum of Collinsville, IL. He also is survived by 8 grand children, Zach, Logan, Taylor Faelber, Courtney Barela, Christopher Odum, Brittney Odum all of Denver, Aaron Odum and Samantha Odun of Niceville Fl. and 10 great grandchildren and 2 nieces Michelle Braswell and Megan Odum of Collinsville Ill. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 granddaughter Betty Nicole Barela. He also is survived by former wife Betty Odum of Houston TX. Mr. Odum had been an Insurance salesman for many years. A Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Friday at Van Natta Funeral Home located at 427 South Park Avenue Herrin, Illinois 62948 with the Rev. Don Colson officiating. Interment will be in Murdale Gardens of Memory, Carbondale, IL. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Friday, June 12, 2015, at Van Natta Funeral Home, 427 South Park Avenue , Herrin, Illinois.
