Mary L. (Bird) Switzer HERRIN — Mary L. (Bird) Switzer, 80, of Kissimmee, Fla., formerly of Herrin, died Friday, Jan. 16, 2009, in Kissimmee. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23, 2009, in Van Natta Funeral Home in Herrin, with the Rev. Ralph Brandon officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Herrin. Mrs. Switzer was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Kissimmee. She was born Dec. 10, 1928, in Anna to Everett and Mae Bird. She married Lawrence Andrew Switzer April 1, 1949. Survivors include two sons, Larry and Stacy Switzer of Intercession City and Marlin Switzer of Kissimmee; one daughter, Lynette and Gary Wright of Carterville; four grandchildren, Laurie Lentz of Carterville, Joseph Wright of Johnston City, Heather Switzer of Spring Hills and Chris Maresco of Kissimmee; and two great-grandchildren, Kimbra and Garrett Lentz of Carterville. She also leaves behind her lifelong friend, Betty Mayes of Kissimmee. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother and husband.
