James William Forbes

Mr. James William Forbes, age 79, of Carterville, IL, died Monday, January 5, 2009, 11:10 PM at South Gate Nursing Home in Metropolis, IL. Mr. Forbes was born in Herrin to James and Evelyn (Meracle) Forbes they preceded him in death. Surviving is his Wife Mrs. Mary Etta (McGee) Forbes of Carterville Ill.; 11 children 1 brother and his wife Charles and Billie Forbes of Herrin Ill.; 2 sisters Marilyn and husband Val Rolland of Pittsburg Ill. and Janet Brown of Herrin Ill. There are also several grandchildren and great grand children; 1 brother-in-law Paul McGee of Caterville Ill.;several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by one son Jodi Forbes. Mr. Fobes served in the Army and was retired from Allens Industry as Maintenance Supervisor. Arrangements are being handled by Van Natta Funeral Home, 427 South Park, Herrin, IL where the family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Friday, January 9, 2009. Funeral service will be at Van Natta Funeral Home at 1:00 PM, Friday, January 9, 2009 Rev.Terry Griffith will officiate. Interment will be at Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, IL with Military rites will be preformed by American Legion and V.F.W. Posts of Herrin Ill.
