Peggy E. Abbott

Mrs. Peggy Eileen Abbott, age 67, of Herrin, IL, died Monday, October 20, 2008, at her home in Herrin, IL after a long battle with cancer. She was diagnosed with cancer over 26 years ago and fought the good fight right up to the end. She was born in Tamms Ill. January 13, 1941 to Ross Croft and Opal (Riggs) Danielson. Mrs Abbott is survived by 2 Daughters and their husbands, Tammy and Rob Riley of Herrin Ill. and Lori and Tim Bishop of Culver City Ca. 1 son Randy Abbott of Herrin Ill. 4 Grand children, Blake and Brandon Riley , Nicholas Pooleon, Brooke Bishop. Her mother also survives of West Los Angeles Ca. Other survivors include aunt Donna Meier of Carterville Ill. Many Nieces and Nephews, many dear friends and all her beloved animals. She was preceded in death by her father, two sisters, Charlotte Nedelcove and Joni Killman and one granddaughter Cassandra Riley. Peggy was employed at Prudential Insurance Co. and was a book keeper for Abbott Motor Clinic in California and was the owner of the Antique Mall in Herrin for several years. She will be greatly missed but lovingly remembered. Memorial can be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois Inc. or Kidney Foundation 215 West Illinois St. Apt 1C Chicago Ill. 60610. Arrangements are being handled by Van Natta Funeral Home, 427 South Park, Herrin, IL where the family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Thursday, October 23, 2008. Funeral service will be at Van Natta Funeral Home at 1:00 PM, Thursday, October 23, 2008, Rev. Ralph Brandon officiating. Interment will be at Herrin City Cemetery, Herrin, IL.
