MARION -- Nathan "Nader" May, 27, died Tuesday, July 22, 2014, in Herrin Hospital. He was born Saturday, Aug. 23, 1986, in West Frankfort, to Jimmy and Rosemarie (Redig) May. He is survived by his parents; four siblings, Brandi May of Marion, Jami May of Bloomington, Joshua and Jordan, both of Herrin; two aunts, Nancy and husband, Randy Spiller, of West Frankfort, and Janice Shaffer of Pennsylvania; one uncle, Edmond and wife, Betty Schneider, of South Carolina. He leaves behind several nieces and nephews including Lilly, Isabella, Molly, Maxxton, Lucian, Gabe, Olivia, River, and Svetlana Grace; and many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bob and Maxine Redig and Victor and Anna May; and one aunt, Julie Ross. Nathan was known for his contagious smile and sweet personality. Nathan attended Johnston City High School. He loved to ride skateboards and was a carver of wood. He had been employed at Sam's Club in Marion as a tire tech. His wishes were to be cremated. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, in Herrin City Cemetery. Van Natta Funeral Home in Herrin is in charge of arrangements.
