Mrs. Lucille Yates, age 90, of Herrin, IL, died Saturday, August 23, 2008 at 5:00 am with her loving family by her side. She was born in Zeigler July 16, 1918 to Herman and Rella (Fann) Seiler. Lucille was married to Lloyd Yates May 27, 1939 in Clayton Missouri. He preceded her in death on Feb. 23, 1992 after 52 years of marriage. Lucille joined the 1st United Methodist Church on Palm Sunday 1949. She has been a devoted chirstian for 61 years belongs to the Hermeghi Class. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Paula and Bruce Gosnell of Johnston City Ill. Grandaughter's Melissa Crites and fiancee Jerry West of Johnston City Ill. Jodi and Mike Seely of Herrin. Great grand childern, Shelby Crites of Johnston City, Cori, Kaci and Asley Woodcock of Herrin. 2 sister-in-law, LaVina Wallace of Herrin and Maxine Seiler of Energy. Nephews and their spouse, Paul Jr. and Susie Seiler of Cambria, Robert and Donna Seiler of Plumfield, Larry and Pat Magnotti of Carterville, Kevin Chapman of California. Nieces and husbands, Carolyn and Gale Chapman of Herrin, Rhonda and Dave Shoemake, Lisa and Jesse Miranda, Patty Magnotti. Also several Great nieces and Nephews who all loved her dearly. She worked as a cook at Lincoln School in Herrin with her best friend Lorene Vinson. She then devoted her life to the care of her mother with out a thought of sacrifice made. She was preceded in death by her husband, son Lloyd (Bobby) Yates, brother Paul Seiler, and her parents ,1 niece Brenda Wallace-Bowden, 2 sister-in-law Gladys Manolo and Ruby Moses. Nephews Douglas Magnotti, Charles Yates. Mother and father in-law, Curtis and AllieYates. 1 gr gr son in-law Jason Crites. A special thank you to Hospice of Southern Ill. Nurses Allyson, Melissa and Shelly Dr. Pramote and staff. Memorial can be made toHospice or to the 1st United Mehodist Church Sunday School class Hermeghi or Pairs and Spares Class. The love of her family was her greatest blessing, she was our greatest blessing. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11:00 am Rev. Ed Hoke officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 to 9:00 pm at the Van Natta Funeral Home in Herrin. Burial will be in the Herrin City Cemetery.
