Betty Milam Deaton

Betty (Milam) Deaton passed away 11:45 am July 7, 2008 in Herrin Hospital at the age of 86. She was born in Herrin, Illinois on June 2, 1922 to Alameda Milam(Campbell) and Lennis L. Milam. Betty was a member of the First Prebyterian Church and past Fianancial Secretary. She was retired Office Manager at Peak Insurance Agency. Surviving is One son Jody and wife Patricia Deaton of Herrin. Four Grandchildren Laura, Jessica and Jordan Deaton of West Frankfort, Carey Cornaglia of Christopher. Two Great Grandchildren Ryan and Noah Cornaglia of Christopher, Three Neices Sharon Morgan and Vickie Caldwell of Zeigler and Gloria Tarter of Herrin, One Nephew Michael Milam of Herrin, Four Great Neices and Nephews. Betty also had two special friends Betty Setzkorn and Ann Hindman.Preceded in Death by One brother and sister in Law Micky and Jane Milam and her parents. Visitation will be held on Wednesday July 9, 2008 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Van Natta Funeral Home in Herrin. Burial will be at the Herrin City Cemetery. Family has requested memorials to the First Presbyterian Church in Herrin and will be accepted at the funeral home.
