Mrs. Idis Shirley, age 73 , of Herrin, IL, went home to be with her Lord Thursday, May 22, 2008. She was born Dec. 3, 1934 in Herrin to Norman and Florence (Reynolds) Throgmorton Sr. She married Edward Shirley Aug. 1, 1952 in Herrin he preceded her in death Sept. 2 1994.She attended the Union Gospel Mission Church in Herrin and taught sunday school. She loved to teach childern about Jesus, she was a Home Maker. Survivors include daughter & son-in-law Ruth and Fred Holder of Carterville IL, 3 sons and 1 daughter-in-law , David of Marion, Dan of Herrin, Paul & Jennifer of Herrin. One grandaughter Christy and husband Benji Wright of Herrin, one great grandson Braxton Wright of Herrin, one brother & sister-in-law Bill & Margaret Throgmorton of Madison Fl., 1 sister Avis Rhodes of Rome Ga., several nieces and nephews, special friends, and her beloved cat Miss Kitty. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 brother & sister-in-law Norman and Gerry Throgmorton Jr., 1 sister Lois Carrie, infant sister and 1 grandson Josh Holder of Carterville. Before her illness she enjoyed cooking, reading, and working in her garden. She loved to spend time with her family especially her great grandson Braxton. In rememberance of her late grandson Memorial donations can be made to the Josh Holder Memorial Fund Old National Bank P.O. Box 280 Carterville IL. 62918. Graveside Services will be Sunday May 25, 2008 at 1:00 pm in Blairsville Cemetery Blairsville IL. Rev. Robert Jilek will be the minister. Arrangements are being handled by Van Natta Funeral Home, 427 South Park, Herrin, IL Interment will be at Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, IL to Sign Guest Book go to vannattafuneralhome.com
