Shirley Ann Woodis

Shirley Ann Woodis, age 77, of Herrin, IL, went to be with the Lord Friday, October 11, 2013, at Herrin Hospital in Herrin, IL. She was born in Herrin to Earl and Elma (McGuire) Wagley March 24, 1936. She worked as a waitress , house cleaner and cook all her life to provide for her children and her special granddaugter Lonna , she also was a waitress in the area. Mrs. Woddis is survived by 4 daughters, Pamala Leonard of Herrin, Kathy and Ron Bell of McLeansboro, Sandra Leeper of Crawfordsville FL. and Kimberly Odum Emery and Marion. She is survived by 4 sisters, Brenda and Chuck Wallace , Jeanie Wagley Villida and George Moore all of Herrin and Nadine and James Gregg of Centralia and 3 adopted daughters Cheryl Greer, Marion, Terry Vohs Herrin and Vicki Rady Marion. She also has 3 brothers, Fred and Elizabeth Wagley of Herrin, Rusty and Joy Wagley of Herrin, Dallas Beavers of Goreville. and 1 adopted son Billy Joe Leeper. Other survivor include 6 grand children and 9 great grand children. She is also survived by special friend and care giver Megan Berkel , several nieces and nephews whom loved her dearly and special friends Bernie Paul and Barbara Brimm. She was preceded in death by parents, 3 brothers Carl Wagley, Buddy Wieland and Ben Parks, 1 niece Tonya and 1 nephew Greg. She lived her life for her children, We loved you momma with all our heart and soul. Thank you for being the best momma we will ever have . Arrangements are being handled by Van Natta Funeral Home, 427 South Park, Herrin, IL Funeral service will be at Van Natta Funeral Home at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, October 16, 2013, Rev. Don Colson officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Burial will be in the Herrin City Cemetery.
