Ruth Tolbert

Mrs. Ruth Darlene Tolbert, age 64, of Herrin, IL, died Thursday May 16 2013, at 7:02 pm Carbondale Memorial Hospital in Carbondale, IL. She was born in Herrin June 11, 1948 to Valley Mays and Geneva (Gossage)Mays Hutton. She is survived by her husband; Richard Tolbert. of Herrin , her Mother, 3 children; Dean Williams of Herrin, Teresa and husband Eddie of Herrin, Valley and wife Margaret of Carterville. She also has 8 grand children; Heidi Bassie of Herrin, Amanda and husband Cory Thomas of Marion, Chastity and husband Timothy Tubbs of Herrin, Wesley Hutton of Carterville, Jennifer and husband Billy Darter of Herrin, Jason Stacy of Herrin, Johna Hutton Carterville, Jordan Williams of Herrin and 9 great grand children. Also surviving is 4 brothers; Don Mays of Marion, George Mays of Energy, Larry Mays of Energy and Harold Mays of Princeton Indiana, 2 sisters; Annette Branch of Freeman Spur and Charlotte Karrigan of Freeman Spur and a special friend Susie Cannon of Herrin. She was preceded in death by her father 3 brothers , 1 sister and 1 great grand daughter She worked for 12 years as a bus monitor for Herrin Unit #4 School Dist. Special thanks to the ICU and staff at Carbondale Hospital. She was a member of Southside Baptist in Christopher Ill. Arrangements are being handled by Van Natta Funeral Home, 427 South Park, Herrin, IL Funeral service will be at Van Natta Funeral Home at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, May 21, 2013 and visitation will be form 11:00am until time of service, Rev. Don Colson officiating. Interment will be at Cundiff Cemetery, Colp, IL
