Mr. Romo Pagano, age 87, of Herrin, IL, died Sunday, February 10, 2013, at his home in Herrin, IL surrounded by his family. Romo was born in Herrin November 27, 1925 to Giuseppe "Joe" and Mary (Picorella) Pagano. Romo was married in October 1950 to Martha June (Upchurch) Pagano she survives. Other survivors are 4 children: Carla and husband David Hays of Herrin, Mark Pagano and fiancée Kelly Kloesel of Billings Montana, Carol and husband Steve Vaughn of Herrin, Scot and wife Rhonda Pagano of West Palm Beach Florida. Romo has 14 grand children; Jacob Horn and Nicholas Hays of Herrin, Joe Pagano of Phoenix Az, Ben Pagano of Billings Montana, Megan Pagano of Fort Collins CO., Shane, Allison, Beau Vaughn of Herrin and Eric Vaughn of Texas, Colin and Abbi Pagano of Chatham Ill, Macartney Pagano of West Palm Beach Fl., Rebecca Rothchild and Rachael Marlow both of Herrin. Romo also leaves 6 great grand children. Romo was preceded in death by 2 brothers Raymond and Richard, 2 sisters Ada Pagano and Mary Gibbens. Mr. Pagano was a veteran of the Army during WWII. Romo was known for his wonderful Italian cooking. Romo first worked at the A&P store in Herrin, then started his career in the TV business where he repaired and sold televisions . Later, he put up television antennas and towers, then moved on to Satellite dish business. He retired in 2005, after over 50 years of business in Herrin. Memorials can be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois Inc envelopes will be provided by the funeral home. The family want express a special thinks to Cathy Roulainitis and all the care givers at No Place Like Home. Arrangements are being handled by Van Natta Funeral Home, 427 South Park, Herrin, IL . Visitation will be at from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Tuesday. Funeral service will be at Van Natta Funeral Home at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, February 13, 2013, . Military rites will be preformed by American Legion and V.F.W. of Herrin and National Guard Honor team. Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery, Marion, IL
