Eva Hodges

Eva M. Hodges, age 102, of Herrin, IL, went to be with the lord Saturday, January 19, 2013, at Shawnee Christian Nursing Center in Herrin, IL. Mrs.. Hodges was born in Herrin to Arthur and Elizabeth (Eisehouer) Mann June 27, 1910. Eva is survived by her daughter, Sara Beth Lockhart of Joplin Mo. Eva had 7 grandchildren; Donna Beth Barnett, Cheryl and Steve Griffith, Caryl Lampton, Debbie and Dan Stocks, Brent Lockhart, Barry Lockhart and Beth and Jeff Baker. She had 21 great grand children, 11 gr gr grandchildren and 1 on the way. she also had many nieces and nephews that were very dear to her.She was a faithful member of First Christian Church in Herrin. She had worked at Smolers in Herrin for 30 years and was a gifted seamstress. Eva's love with her lord was first and foremost and followed closely was her love for her family. she was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers and 4 sisters, 2 daughters and son-in-laws Marsha Cobb,and recently deceased son-in-law Phil Lockhart. Arrangements are being handled by Van Natta Funeral Home, 427 South Park, Herrin, IL where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, January 25, 2013. Funeral service will be at Van Natta Funeral Home at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 26, 2013, Rev. Ron Henwood officiating. Interment will be at Maplewood Cemetery, Marion, IL
