Mr. Gus Richardson, age 73, of Herrin, IL, died Tuesday, July 10, 2012, at Herrin Hospital in Herrin, IL. Mr.Richardson was self employed flooring installer. He was born in Fayette county West Virginia to Harvey and Zona Farris Richardson May 26,1939. Gus was married to Sharon Whitson Houghlan on November 22, 1982 in Las Vegas. He was a member of the 1st United Methodist Church of Herrin, Williamson County Shrine Club , Franklin County Shrine Club, Johnston City Masonic Lodge, Herrin Elks, American Legion, Eagles and the Johnston City Buccaneers Club and he also served in the Army. Survivors include his wife Sharon, daughters Johna and husband Brian Schullian of Herrin, Robyn and husband Keenan Adams of Herrin, Rachelle Richardson of Colorado, and son Adam and wife Susan of Georgia; grandchildren Hunter and Tori Schullian of Herrin and Ashton Richardson of Pennsylvania. Also surviving twin brother Ed and wife Vicki Haynes of Winter Haven Fl. and brother Ron and wife Bonnie Suddath of Johnston City and Leo Richardson of Kentucky, and brother-in-law Earl and wife Nancy Whitson of Johnston City and sister-in-law Sandra Dryden of Herrin and several nieces and nephews and many close friends. .. Gus enjoyed going to Hunter and Tori's sports activities. They were his pride and joy and he enjoyed being a part of their lives. He also enjoyed his many fishing trips with his fishing buddies and trips with his fellow Shriners and his road trips to St. Louis Shriners Childrens Hospital and Cincinnati Burn Hospital Memorials can be made to the St. Louis Shriners Children's Hospital envelopes will be provided by the funeral home. He was preceded in death by his parents , his step father Michael Guzy whom he love dearly and his sister Christine Evans. Arrangements are being handled by Van Natta Funeral Home, 427 South Park, Herrin, IL Memorial service will be at Van Natta Funeral Home at 1:00 PM, Saturday, July 14, 2012, Rev. Ed Hoke officiating. Visitation will start at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will be at Lake View Cemetery Johnston City Illinois. at 2:00 pm family and friends are asked to go to the cemetery after the funeral,
