Raymond Finney Jr. VALIER — Raymond Joseph Finney Jr., 71, died Friday, June 22, 2012, in Frankfort Healthcare Center . Ray was born in Du Quoin July 25, 1940, the first born child of Raymond Joseph and Mary Rebecca (Neville) Finney. He worked at Sparta Printing for years and after his retirement from there, he worked as a security guard and as a school bus driver. Ray married his wife, Sharon WhoBrey Finney, July 2, 1995, in Dowell Baptist Church in Dowell. Ray is survived by his wife, Sharon Finney of Valier, and his daughter, Christina (Raymond) Farthing of Tamaroa and his son, Danny Finney of Sesser; a stepdaughter, Kendra (Jeff) Zeims of Christopher, and stepdaughter, Rhonda (Steve) Roule of Covington, Ga.; grandchildren, stepgrandson, Ryan Farthing; grandsons, Daniel, Samuel and Adam Finney; stepgrandchildren, Amanda Ziems Evans and husband (Matt); Brock Ziems, Morgan Ziems and Sidney Roule; one great-stepgrandson, Jacob Evans; four sisters and four brothers, Virginia Henson, Norma McManus, Wilma Bowers and Carl Finney, all of Du Quoin, Mary Cook of Murphysboro, Otis Robinson of Florida, Bobby Finney of Texas and Charles (Linda) Finney of Colorado; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, George and Richard Finney and two sisters, Wanda Wilce and Loretta Combs and one granddaughter. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, June 25, in Denning Cemetery in West Frankfort . Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today, June 24, at Van Natta Funeral Home, Illinois 148, Sesser. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or American Diabetes Association.
