James Joseph Helleny

James Joseph Helleny, 64 of Herrin passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2012 in St. Louis, MO. James (Jim) had been the owner of Jim’s Mobile Offices for 25 years. He sat on the board at the H Group and the Southern Illinois Healthcare Foundation, He was a member of the Herrin Masonic Lodge, the Williamson County Shrine Club and the Herrin Elks. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Herrin. He was also most proud of his service to our country in the Illinois National Guard. Jim was born to James and Norma Jean Helleny in Herrin on June 19, 1947. He is survived by his wife Mary Catherine; his son James Joseph and wife Nina; his daughter Kathleen Ann McFarland and husband Scott, of St. Louis; daughter Margaret Christine Snyder and husband Nick of O’Fallon, IL; and daughter Andrea also of St. Louis; grandchildren Madeline Snyder, Ian McFarland and John Helleny; sister Jamiel Bushong and husband James of Herrin; brother John and wife Sharon of Herrin; uncles Taffie and wife Ester Jane, Charles, and an aunt Zella all of Herrin; numerous cousins and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his Godfather Louis Helleny, his uncle Edward and Joel Helleny, and his aunt Wanda Stanley. Jim enjoyed playing bocce with his family, attending Cardinals’ games in St. Louis and mostly spending time with his grandchildren. While most people saw him as an entrepreneur and businessman, his family was the center point of his life. He will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, please give a donation to the H Group, the First Presbyterian Church of Herrin, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel New School Fund, or the Herrin Bocce Club. Arrangements are being handled by Van Natta Funeral Home, 427 South Park, Herrin, IL where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Wednesday, February 29, 2012. Funeral service will be at Van Natta Funeral Home at 11:00 AM, Thursday, March 1, 2012, Father Kenneth Schaefer officiating. Interment will be at Herrin City Cemetery, Herrin, IL
