GOREVILLE — Lawrence Garrett Jarvis, 37, died Friday, Dec. 23, 2011, as a result of a car accident near Pulley’s Mill on Illinois 37, with his fiance Jennifer O’Brien of Florida. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 30, 2011, in Van Natta Funeral Home, 427 S. Park Ave., in Herrin, with the Rev. Denny Bush officiating. Burial will be in Miners Cemetery in Royalton. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011, at the funeral home. Garrett was born Tuesday, July 9, 1974, in Carbondale to Lawrence “Duck” Jarvis and Sherri (Jarvis) Annable. He loved the outdoors — hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles and working on anything mechanical. Garrett enjoyed spending time with his high school sweetheart Jennifer Lyell O’ Brien and her children, Becca, Ryan, Brady and Brennan. There is nothing he loved more than spending time with his children and family. Garrett will be truly missed. Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Sherri and Scott Annable of Goreville; children, Alyssa Davis and Chase Jarvis of Christopher; sister, Jennifer Brown of Vienna; brother, Johnathan Jarvis of Goreville; stepbrother, Samuel Annable of Fiatt; nephews, Broc Brown and Dylan Jarvis; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father; grandparents, Lawrence and Elsie Jarvis, Earl and Eunice Samples and Jerry Minton; great-grandparents, Pettis and Nancy Colp; and uncles, Robin Minton and Sherman Jarvis.
