Mr. Paul (Mousey) Smith, age 78, of Herrin, IL, died Saturday, September 10, 2011 in the Parkway Manor Nursing Home in Marion. He was born in Carterville Ill., to Bert and Annabelle (Forbes) Smith. Mousey was a man who loved his family and tried to make the wourld a better place. He worked at Norge for over 40 years. He coach little league and donated over 123 units of blood to American Red Cross before he was strickened with cancer. Mousey was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need and the world is a sadder place with his passing. He was preceded in death by nhis beloved wife Mitzi. He leaves behind his children Paula Welker, Shelby Cramer and Marty Smith and their spouses, his grandchildren and great granchildren. He will be missed by his sisters Deloris Ogden, Irene Wickham, Pauline Spiller and his brother Bob (Tick) Smith and several nieces and nephews and brothers-in-llaw and sisters- in -laws. Mousey was an active member of Harvest Time Worship Center. His church family and friends will miss his gentle humor his charming grin and his strong faith. By living his life the way he believed it should be lived, Mousey touch many lives. He will be missed by his family and neighbors. We know he will watch over us all. Memorials can be made to the Harvest Time Worship Center. Services will be at the Van Natta Funeral Home Wednesday Sept. 14, 2011 at 11:00 am and the visitation will be from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Tuesday also at the Van Natta Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Todd Hawk will officiate and the burial will be at the Herrin City Cemetery.
