Clara Juanita Harris

Mrs. Clara Juanita Harris, age 91, of Herrin, IL, died Wednesday, September 7, 2011, at Herrin Hospital in Herrin, IL. She was born in Carbondale to Robert and Clara (Short) Cox June 12, 1920. Mrs. Cox married Mr Charles Ramsey in 1954 he passed away in 1972 she then married Mr. Robert Harris and he passed away in 1983. Survivors are one stepson William and his wife Darlena Harris of West Virginia, one brother and sister-in-law Edwin and Mae Cox of Herrin, two nephews Larry Cox of Arlington TX, Virgil Cox Jr. of Carbondale, 2 nieces, Barbara Gentry of Farmersville Ill. and Joyce Scott. There are also several great and great-great nieces and nephews and four step grand children and five great step grand children. Mrs Harris was preceded in death by her parents 2 husbands 1 brother Virgil Cox Sr. and nephew Jerry Cox. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Herrin. Arrangements are being handled by Van Natta Funeral Home, 427 South Park, Herrin, IL. Graveside funeral service will be at Hillcrest Cemetery at 1:00 PM, Monday, September 12, 2011, Rev. Jerry Ford officiating. Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery, Carterville, IL
