Mrs. Maria Legan, age , of Herrin, IL, died Saturday, June 4, 2011, at Herrin Hospital in Herrin, IL. She was born in Gersfeld Germany September 8, 1923 to Konstontine and Justina Romeis. She was married to John Legan he died November 16, 2009. Mrs. Legan is survived by one son an daughter in law ; E. J. and Anne-Marie Legan of Herrin, grand daughter Rhea Ann and husband Rodney Allen of Stonington Il., three great grand sons, Chad, Zachary and Christian, one great grand doughter Selah one step grand daughter Melanie and her husband Michael Bailey of Austin Texas. Also there are many special friends. She was preceded in death parents, one brother and four sisters all of Germanyand one sister of Bayside New York. Mrs. Legan was a seamstress at Smolers in Herrin and was a member of the Smolers Herrin Apparel bowling team for many years Arrangements are being handled by Van Natta Funeral Home, 427 South Park, Herrin, IL where the family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Wednesday, June 8, 2011. Funeral service will be at Van Natta Funeral Home at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, June 8, 2011, Rev. Don Colson officiating. Interment will be at Herrin City Cemetery, Herrin, IL
