Niles Leach

Mr. Niles Leach, 89 of Energy, Illinois died 9:05 pm on Thursday, March 31, 2011, at his home in Energy, Illinois. Mr. Leach was born in Herrin February 12, 1922 to Alex and Ella Gibson Leach. A funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday at the 2nd Baptist with the Rev. Jerry Ford officiating. Interment will be in the Maplewood Cemetery, Marion, IL. with military rites provided by the V.F.W. and the American Legion Posts in Herrin. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, April 4, 2011, at 2nd Baptist, , Herrin, Illinois. Van Natta Funeral Home in Herrin in charge of arrangements. Mr. Leach is survived by his beloved wife Virginia (Flener) Leach, they were married in 1943. Also he is survived by 1 daughter-in-law Jean Leach of Sugar Land Texas and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son Bryan Leach, his parents, 3 sisters and 1 brother. Mr. Leach was a member of the 2nd Baptist Church in Herrin and served as a deacon. Niles was in the Navy and retired from the coal mines. He also taught Sunday school at the church.
