Mary Prewitt

Mrs. Mary Ann Prewitt, age 65, of Marion, IL, died Sunday, January 9, 2011, at Herrin Hospital in Herrin, IL. She was a member of the Bryan Street Baptist Church. Mary was born in East St. Louis to George and Ann Beesley Martin May 19, 1945. Mrs. Prewitt was a secretary for the Bank of Herrin. She is survived by her husband; Jimmy G. Prewitt. They were married on September 17, 1965. Also surviving are two daughters, Wendy and husband Tim Boyd of Marion and Kelly and husband Robert Angle of Springfield Illinois. Mrs. Prewitt is survived by 2 grandchildren Caitlyn and Patrick Boyd, one brother, Gene and wife Karen Martin of Arkansas, two sister-in-laws Marilee Fowler of Marion and Caryl Martin of Tennessee. There are also several nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and one brother George Martin. Memorial donations can be made to Bryan Street Baptist Church or to Hospice of Southern Illinois Inc. The family would like to extend a warm thank you to Dr. Pramote and the nursing staff at Herrin Hospital. Arrangements are being handled by Van Natta Funeral Home, 427 South Park, Herrin, IL where the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, January 11, 2011. Funeral service will be at Van Natta Funeral Home at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 12, 2011, Rev Duane Faulkenberry officiating. Interment will be at Herrin City Cemetery, Herrin, IL.
