Judith Leeper

Mrs. Judith Elayne Goins Leeper, age 84, of Herrin, IL, died Sunday, December 19, 2010 at 5:35pm, at Herrin Hospital in Herrin, IL. She was born December 3, 1926 in Herrin to Thomas and Myrta Levina (Eason) Goins. She was married to Earl L. "Pert" Leeper he preceded her in death. She is survived by her sister Jackie Johnson of Herrin, two special nephews Timothy and wife Pam Kulik of Royalton, Darryl and wife Amy Kulik of Mascoutah and special niece Mona and husband Sam Shemwell of Herrin. Other survivors include several other nieces and nephews and great and great great nieces and nephews. Mrs. Leeper was preceded in death by her husband, parents three brothers, Ralph, Chester and Ferrell Goins and 2 sisters Ruby Vaughn and Joan Kulik. She attended the Harvest Time Worship Center in Herrin. She was a life time member of the V.F.W. Aux Post #1301 of Marion she currently served as a Trustee. She was a long time member of Carterville Lions Club and was very active in both clubs until her decline in health. She was also a member of Hurricane Cemetery Association. She loved to play bingo. She was a retire case worker for the State of Illinois. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Jeff Parks and his staff and to the nurses and staff of the 2and floor of the Herrin Hospital for the exceptional care given to Judy and for all your hugs and words of comfort. May God bless you. Arrangements are being handled by Van Natta Funeral Home, 427 South Park, Herrin, IL where the family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Wednesday, December 22, 2010. Funeral service will be at Van Natta Funeral Home at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, December 22, 2010, Rev. Todd Hawk officiating. Burial will be in the Hurricane Cemetery in Carterville.
